    looking for advice from any Famers here my Father passed away over a yr ago l inherited the farm and l thought the entitlements send off to have the herd number put into my name A inspector came out from the DVO told me that as l was not going to keep cattle on the ground for the forseeable future l should get a non animal no so that l can still get entitlements my solicitor helped me fill out form sent same back no reply from any body then 4 weeks ago got a letter stating that as l had no herd no l would not be entitlements even though l was advised that l should apply for a non farm no just sent another completted form in the last few days and still no reply back every one l have spoken to over phone in Davitt house Castlebar has been very helpful but still no joy lm no nearer to getting the money that l was advised lm entitled to my Solicitor says that this type of problem is common and that he has clients that have same issue yr on yr also sayts that he has similar issues its getting to stage that if its not sorted out l will go to Davitt house at start of next yr and chain my self to what ever is a solid object in there office till issue is sorted im not joking l have already earmarked this money for farm improvements

    If you filled out your forms like you write your posts, is it any wonder they don't reply?
    Mabey re-write that post again and people might be arsed to offer some advice, it really is a chore trying to understand that drivell.:mad:

    1st things 1st , dont panic , the department are a joke when it comes to theese things , they will tell you to do one thing yet when that turns out to be incorrect information , they will deny ever having advised you to do so , nothing happens quickly with those muppets , its the same with all civil servants , thier incompetance is only matched by thier arrogance in defending thier incompetance , all you can do is keep politely chipping away at what you need , remember , they are never wrong

    That may be a bit harsh... not all of us are academics..
    And shouldn't that be Maybe, Mabey might sound like drivel (thats drivel with one l) to some of us ;)

    Irish_bob is right.. these things take time, keep a note of who you speak to each time you ring, and ask to speak with that person the next time..
