I am looking for a heavy duty Muay Thai skipping rope - the ones made out of thick plastic tubing. Does anyone know of any suppliers here in Ireland?

    Thanks
    Peter

    Hi Paddy,

I'm based in Dublin. I've already got a normal skipping rope so really I'm looking for one of the think ones. I'll have a look on ebay.

    Thanks
    Peter

Whats the difference between a Muay Thai skipping rope and the ones they sell in Mullens?

    They look like this...

They are alot heavier than the normal ones.

Cool thanks. Any particular reason they're used instead of the lighter ones?

God, just thinking of missing a double-under with one of those. Ouch.

I tried one out a few years ago and found it really tough, particularly on the upper body. And yes... steel toe-capped boots would come in very handy particularly on cold floors!

everlast do a rope just like the one in the picture there ! Stronge leather and heavy handles !
Another rope is great to use is the wire rope. In the handles are weights that can be removed. Not nice when ya get a whack on the back of the legs though:eek:

I have something very similar to the one in the picture at home. I thought it was a girls' school yard skipping rope.

Now Lynne my post started by just slagging you about not skipping properly, having the crack,
but you when you start telling lies like in the above quote its time to end this,
not when you cant be straight.
    Good luck.

OK then Jonh lets get this straight

    1. i quote Billy saying himself John was a handy heavyweight when he was fighting.
2.So gone way off tract of the subject.
    3. This is not Lynne.
    And i'm not telling lies
I preferred the bit of slagging. Lets just drop the **** and back to that

Ok Lynne lets get back to slagging so,
you should put him into a home if he ever thought i was a heavyweight
    he's lost his marbles ,
i was irish super middle/ light heavyweight champion:D
