    Inspired by another thread here, I noticed there were two different opinions on wether the pan should be clean or durty when frying bacon, eggs, sausages etc. I am firmly in the camp that if the pan is too clean then it detracts from the taste. Where do you stand?

    Clean or dirty pan for the fry up! 26 votes

    I loikes em durrrty. Adds to the flavour!

    I voted but I'm torn.

    While I agree that it does taste better while durrrrrrrrrrty......I don't like my pan to be left durrty when the cooking and eating is done.

    As long as the grease /cooking oil hasnt being in the pan since the dawn of civilisation and the egg looks like an egg .Not a black eye .

    I am more a grill man myself ;)

    Doesn't making the fried bread last of all clean the pan and soak up all the greasy goodness that might have been washed away later by an over zealous wimmin?

    True but there should be some crumbs left over to blacken and enhance subsequent frys!

    I found a blonde hair in my frying pan the other day and it wasnt mine ;).

    Dont ya just hate when the women willl blow dry / style their hair over the the cooker when there are many others sockets available across the kitchen ? :(

    had to go with clean, while I admit that a bit of rasher grease does help the flavour of the other pork products..... my main moan about dirty pan is that, I only have one large pan and I don't want my rashers and sausages to taste of fish or some other non pork product.....

    Duurty all the way and keep any excess lard in a cup in the fridge for the next time you fry.

    It should have the remnants of the last 5 pork feasts in it. Then add a large dollop of lard. And fry away. If it doesn't clog at least 2 arteries when eating it you haven't done it right.

    Dirty all they way! Especially for cooking eggs. No matter what they should always be the last thing cooked, as they benefit most from all the extra flavours!

    I am now hungry...

    My tummy is rumbling...

    I wonder what I have in the fridge...

    Corner shop sells eggs, rashers, sausages, puddings etc...

    :D:pac::cool:
