Thinking of getting one and have some questions:

    1. How long does the battery last and how long does it take to charge?
    2. Do movies look ok when loaded in Divx format or what format do you use yourself?
    3. Is the 2.5inch screen big enough for watching movies?
    4. How long does it take to convert a dvd to divx or another compressed format?
    5. Regarding transfering files, is it possible to just highlight the files and copy/paste to removable disk or is there more to it?
    6. Will it play all versions of Wma and Mp3 cause I've had trouble before with other (albiet cheaper) players that would only play certain bitrates.
    7. And lastly, anyone ever have one of these and an IPod? How do they compare?

That's it for now. If I think of anyting else I'll come back to ye. But if anyone could help with the above that'd be swell :)

    K.

I have the 32gb version and love it. I bought it 4 months ago and have been using it constantly since. Been working a boring factory job so I could be using it for up to 10 hours a day. Ill try answer the questions

    1) Battery lasts around 10 to 12 hours maybe a bit longer and I just plug it in over night to charge. Not sure exactly how long it takes.

    2) I havent used it too much for video but the few I have put on looked perfect. There is a free conversion tool with the player. I think it converts to WMV

    3) You get used to the size of the screen. Its far from a cinema expierience but it will do. Its the same size screen as the classic iPod.

    4) I forget how long it took me but there is no point in me giving you a time anyway because it depends completely on the power of your PC

    5) The program that come with the player I find brilliant. I normally just use the sync tool. But there is an option to highlight what you want and transfer. Very straight forward.

    6) I have never had any problems with playing different bitrated files. It works fine.

    7) Never owned an iPod but have had the use of one. I prefer the Zen but I will admit I am slightly biased as I dont really like the iPod.

If you need to know anything else just send me a PM

Thanks a million for that cooper. That's a great help.

Just 2 more questions, I'm not familiar with decent pmp's at all (have just had cheapy, trashy ones in the past).

What's synching? Is that just where you copy what's on your pc on to your pmp?

And going back to the copy/paste issue, just to confirm, I can simply go into my music folder and highlight and copy any file format i.e. wma, mp3 etc and paste it to the player?

Thanks again for answering all my questions. Think you have swayed me towards the creative.

Syncing is basically where you plug in the player to the PC and it checks what you have on the player and what is on the PC. Anything that isnt on the player is then automatically transferred over.

You dont go into my music and copy and paste into the player. If you want to do it manually you just open up the program that comes with the player. All your music will show up and you just highlight what you want to transfer over and click the transfer button. Its really easy.

<edit>Oh and I for got to say before the zen has a radio which is something the iPods dont have. I find it handy
