Where to buy Soya (Milk) products??

I know Soya products can be found in many supermarkets (Tesco/Superquinn), but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper alternative, or one with more choice?

In particular, I'm talking about milk, and yoghurts.
There is the AllPro stuff, which seems to be decent quality, tastes good, and has reasonably good protein content - however, its a little pricey - in particular the milk which is around the €2/L mark. There are some like "Soya Soleil" at €1.39/L - though it has lower protein content.

Do Lidl/Aldi do a Soya milk?

Many of the health food stores seem to only carry AllPro.

I am allergic to dairy and so use the milk for porridge/breakfast shakes, and the yoghurts are a handy snack with fruit to increase protein levels in my diet.

If I remember correctly Tesco have their own brand that seemed a lot cheaper than the other ones. I would be semi-lactose intolerant myself but do not use soya.

EDIT< I just checked with the husband< yes< we saw it in maynooth< not sure of the price though>

Was in Lidl this afternoon after posting this.

    Result:
-Soya milk 85c/L -lower protein content than AllPro at 3Gs/100ml as opposed to 3.8Gs.
-Yoghurts - special offer 79c/4pack(125ml) (normal price €1.38) vs ~€2 for AllPro..

Quality remains to be seen, but those are significant price differences. Even beats Carrefour in France (where I've been living for the past 6months) which was .99c/L.

Re: Tesco, thanks, - never seen the own brand in my local Tescos, unless its not in the fridge with the rest of the Soya milk, but will check next time there. Doubt its going to beat Lidl on price, though possibly on quality/protein content etc.

I think that it was 85c also, was in a general isle (not refrigerated). Hope that this helps.

The Tesco own brand is UHT & I got it before in the "Specialised food" section (or whatever you would call it, sorry not sure of correct term! Gluten free, Soya products etc... all together) - I think it's around the same price as Lidl, but again not sure of protein content.

If you are living anywhere near the border - I know Sainsburys sell the AllPro Soya milk for around 85p & they also have their own brand (which is comparable in content) for 63p (also UHT). I have two children on soya milk & so go through a lot of it!!!

If you care about these things, I would be wary of very cheap soya products as a lot of it comes from farmland created by the destruction of the Amazon. Otherwise, work away.

Hi, Lidl sell Soy Milk and it's very inexpensive, also Tesco sell their own brand Soy Milk for about 90c a litre , it's a lot cheaper than Alpro. I've tried both Tesco and Lidl Soya Milk I prefer them to Alpro.

    Hi,

Just looking up soya based foods on the net and came across this site. My daughter is 5 months old and is lactose intolerant. She is currently on Lactose Free Formula (Enfamil O-lac) but we had to wean her early to spoon feeds as she suffers from gastric reflux and the bottles aggreviate this. Could anyone tell me if you can get soya yoghurts for babies ?

    Thanks

    Becks
