You're going to have to be more specific - an iPod is an MP3 player, all sorts of things, even some cameras, are MP3 players. What make of MP3 player is causing you the frustration?

Ok what I have is a curtis 4GB MP3 video...
    Compatible with win2000/XP & above..

Does that mean I can't use it with my Mac?

Never heard of that one. Have you tried yet just connecting it to your mac via usb? It may just appear as an external "drive" like another hard drive. You might be able to just drag songs etc to it, or you might see folders for music (but if you get any kind of prompt that mentions formatting the drive beware that means losing everything on the drive, potentially including software already installed).

There's a curtis website - is the player shown here anywhere?

Thank You art.. I have offloaded it to another friend who seems to have it sorted.. Santy would be in the bad books big time if I held onto it any longer...
    Appreciate the assistance
    Merry Christmas :)
