Taken with a pinch of salt seen as it's inThe Sun who are renowned for printing garbage, but if this is indeed true and Mani persuades Ian Brown to reform the Roses it'll be one of the highlights of my life, the Stone Roses are by far and away my favourite band of all time.:)

Dunno about Brown going for the re-union, but i thought Reni had fallen off the face of the earth altogether. Seems unliekly, but stranger things have happened.

And if you stare directly at it for too long...

Well there seems to be lots of various different bands reforming thesedays so it could well happen,it would be absolutely amazing if they did, they would sell out absolutely everywhere they play as well.

I won't happen. Ian Brown hates John Squier. Simple as.

ever hear the words "forgive & forget", many bands who have had a fallen out have patched up their differences for a reunion, no reason as to why the Roses can't!!

I really can't see it happening. Wasn't Squire the one who said he would never reform with Brown?

It'd be great and all that but massive pinch of salt with that article.

I think i remember reading a few years back that Squire has tried to mend the fence a couple of times but Brown was no longer interested.

I'm with the majority on this one, the chances of this happening are about the same as a New Order reunion at this stage.

Two Hopes, and Bob passed on a few years back.

they were the best of friends 1 time and im sure they both have mellowed with age.i think this could really happen cos the last time i heard Brown speak on the matter he just said ''never say never''

I'd be excited purely to see Reni behind the kit again.

Believe it when I see it though.

On the one hand two of the four are doing alright with their own music projects, and another is concentrating on art rather than music.

On the other hand - 20th anniversary tour, with sacks of money guaranteed, can be very persuasive.

    But, yeah, it's the sun.

The Stone Roses Experience this Friday in The Academy, doors 11.15, only 15 quid in, should be a cracker

This is one reunion I can't see happening (Brown's pigheadedness proves useful after all), and I'd prefer it not too.

Reunions never seem to recapture the magic that made the first time round so special.

Times a healer, I can see them getting back together...Life's too short.

In saying that Ian Brown is a stubborn bloke but I'm sure maybe if the rest of the band butter him up he might be into it.

Also I think if they do it it'll be more about doing it for the money than anything else as it would be a good retirement fund for them...

Personally I'd love to see them back no matter what as I only got into them in the mid nineties when they split up...A new album would be too much to ask for but never say never.

In the mean time you should all check out the stone roses experience, it's as close as were gonna get for the moment or maybe even ever...

Man City will have to win the European cup first, but the Roses supporting the reformed Smiths in Slane 2010 would be something to look forward to:)

I'd put money on the latter happening rather than the former :p:D

Stone Roses reunion looks unlikely but then they also said Pink Floyd would never play together again....and a Verve reunion looked highly unlikely too, you just never know

Is John Squires art any good though?

is art is great, id buy it if i had the cash...

I'd love to see them live - one of the first bands I really got into, although there's a fear that it could all go pear-shaped like their 1995 tour

I doubt this will happen on the basis of an interview with John Squire on the BBC2 culture show about 10 months ago.

He is a full time artist now and lives up the mountains somewhere. The guy interviewing him was told prior to kick off that would be reluctant to answer any questions on the stone roses and has given up music. Suggests maybe one day but wouldn't hold my breath.

This has about as much chance happening as a Smiths reunion.

Hopefully his art is better than his singing....

As for them getting back together? Music wise Brown is pretty lame and has only achieved success on the live circut by including Stone Roses songs in each set. If they got back together why would anyone besides die hard brown fans want to see him play solo again? Unless of course they get offered a giant wad of cash to get back together. Either way a reunion would have to pay enough to live happily ever after
