When you arrive at work and are told there is no work to be done and to head home, are you entitled to a full days pay?

(After physically visiting place of employment and signing in.)

I know there is an entitlement to 1/4 of a days pay if it has been set up with an employer that they will ring you before work, but don't.

are you the post man who got 11k bonus for sitting on his backside for 41wks of last year?

have your workplace a rota in place?

it sounds odd but depends on your contract or terms of employment.

whats this 1/4 days pay? your post is unclear.

again all depends on whats agreeded locally and in your contract.
