Tiger Woods' caddy Steve Williams not holding back about what he thinks about Phil Mickelson. Will be interesting to see what his boss makes of it!

Not too sure he should be saying things like this, but the story about the fan shouting at Mickelson in the US Open is very funny!

Steve would be wise to keep his counsel if you ask me... Tiger got rid of Fluff Cowan (with Furyk now) in his early career because he "talked too much" in this manner...

I'm not a big fan of Mickelson (or Woods either) but Williams has proved himself as a bit of a dick in the past and this really shows a complete lack of class on his part.
Williams is a nobody and should keep his mouth shut and count himself lucky to be New Zealand's highest paid "sportsman" just for carrying Tiger's clubs.
Can't see Tiger firing him but wouldn't be surprised to see an apology from Williams soon.

Mickelson's response -- "After seeing Steve Williams’ comments all I could think of was how lucky I am to have a class act like Bones (Jim Mackay) on my bag and representing me."

Agreed. Although, personally, I think Woods should fire him. He's made a fool of him with this rubbish.

And what makes it worse is, the "nice T*ts" story he tells in the article above wasn't even Mickelson, it was Monty.

    What a tool.

Monty does have a fine pair of Man City's sure enough.

I've read and heard stuff suggesting that the Woods/Williams partnership might have been coming to an end anyway. I imagine that to be just a rumour though. Surely if it was going to happen it would've while Woods was laid up.

Tiger if you're reading (and lets face it, what else would you be doing on a Monday night!) ... just let me know if you need a replacement!

I think Billy Foster might just edge you out there...

The guy's a caddy and should keep his mouth shut.

It's not good PR for Woods and I think he'll find a new caddy.

I always disliked that Williams chap.
    Extremely smug and unsportsmanlike.

Never liked him. Such an arrogant individual. Hate the way he goes around attacking photographers, kicking one, throwing camera in lakes, breaking others and the way he is so aggressive when telling people to stay quiet or not to take pictures. Not part of the game of Golf and shouldn't be tolerated. Although saying that, woods is not that much better.
I believe there is a swear/tantrum jar in the players locker rooms and woods has been the biggest contributor over the years...

I think Tiger should get rid of him, it's very bad for his image to have that p***k mouthing off like that, whatever he is saying while it's his opinion, it's associated with Tiger aswell.

I think tiger should get rid of him. Tiger has a reputation as being squeaky clean and always saying the right thing and above all being PC. He's been doing this for so long now. I dont think he is going to tolerate a caddy saying this in the public domain and ruining things for him. I know tiger didnt say it himself but he will be associated to it regardless. Williams should be thanking his lucky stars thats he's made so much money from tiger. Bottom line is Williams is just a caddy. Although this is an important part of some players games, Tiger Woods would still be world number 1 nomatter who caddies for him. Williams should remember that.

PS - i found the quote v.funny and the game needs a few "characters" but we should never have got to hear the quote. It was out of line. By the way, Monty does have a cracking pair on him doesnt he! I rekon he's a C-Cup for sure.:D

You should look at Monty's swing on one of those super slow-mo swing cams and see how his long languid swing rally accentuates those jelly babies!! Hmm ... jeh-lee Babies!

Woods' has already distanced himself from the comments. Williams always struck me as an arrogant and abrasive sort of bloke so I'd have no sympathy for him if he got the boot. He's milked the gravy train for long enough.

Woods also confirmed that Williams will carry his bag in 2009...

"Yeah, what ended up happening is I communicated with Phil, and we have discussed it," said world number one Woods, who is recovering from knee surgery.

"I talked to Stevie about it, and he feels bad, what happened. It's something that none of us really wanted to have happen, but it's over and done with and we put it to bed."
