At the bottom of step three in Aidan's guide he recommends the following:

Now, if you do not already have an antivirus application installed, or have let the subscription of your preinstalled antivirus slip, we will install a new AV package. Before you continue, uninstall any old AV software you may already have. You can do this by going to the Control Panel and uninstalling it in the Add/Remove Software application.

Now download and install AVG Free. Follow the onscreen instructions and scan all drives of your system.

Does this mean getting rid of all three parts of the McAfee programs - the Personal Firewall plus , the SecurityCentre and the Virus Scan - the subscription has not been renewed. Just wondering should I et rid of all three before I install AVG and will that then suffice.

    Cheers

Yes, but if you don't have a hardware firewall enable the integrated Windows Firewall first, you don't want to get caught with your pants down while you're changing clothes.
