I just got a pair of these.

    http://www.uktactical.com/acatalog/Magnum_Stealth_Force_8_Inch.html

They seem decent enough. They are pretty light and they are water resistant. Only problem with the pair I got was one of the cloth loops for the laces broke. It doesn't bother me too much though, they lace up fine without using them.

    I would have got these.

    http://www.uktactical.com/acatalog/copy_of_Converse_Warrior.html

But they don't have any water resistance, and I cant see that material being too easy to clean. They may suit your needs though. They seem to be the boots most people recommend, due to comfort and build quality.

Pretty decent prices on that uktactical site as well, have a look at some of the other boots available there.

I've been wearing columbia goretex boots with vibram soles for a few years now. They are military spec but they are fully waterproof, breathable and give good support.
They were so good after my first pair fell apart I got an other pair. My first pair only lasted and 2 years and a half but they did recieve plenty of use, airsofting hiking etc. About €115.

have to agree the Elite 900 series are an excellent boot for skirmishing being wearing magnum for over 10 years cant beat them ,just dont go for the basic magnum classic ,not that great for heavy duty wear in bad weather ,and skirmish sites

WELL instead of all this 'Desert' this, and 'Modern' that. I use a leather pair of old Doctor Martin boots :D. Best budget boots you can buy and will look snazzy kicking down doors at The Warehouse. Believe me:pac:.

Would strongly oppose magnums! Have had mine for around a year now, they completely fell apart a few weeks ago, the leather completly seperated from the sole.

These were the most expencive boots in their range. They saw some pretty heavy use, i.e 11 hour hikes on alpine trails and either airsofting or at work every weekend but these are supposed to be one of the best military boots available, for E130 you can get a much higher quality pair.

My dad's has a pair of leather Meindl boots for over 15 years and they have seen some very very heavy use, in the Alps, Wicklow, ect... and there still going strong.

I'd say if your looking for a good pair of boots the Meindls would last you a very long time.

The magunms are very, very comfortable but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. They were a complete disaster.

for cold or muddy conditions I have a great pair of canadian military artic tundra knee high boots.

Warm, dry and with enough length they give great ankle support.
    I lub them

Very strange to hear a bad report on Magnums to be honest, i'd be going back to the retailer with those ones.

Using a pair of 5.11 tan boots at the moment, incredibly comfortable, fairly cheap and waterproof too.

Magnums are also great from what I've heard (aside from liamo's post, i've never heard a bad word about them)

Meindl are probably the best you can get, but would be quite expensive too.

i got a pair in army bargains there for 50quid a few months ago and they have done about 50 miles of hiking and then a good few skirmishes.
they have benn in deep mud and have been completly soaked through from the water goin up over the top and down into them
they are waterproof but when the water goes up over the top of them and get inside it takes ages for them to dry out
they are showing no sighn of wear and tear yet with all the stiching in them still strong and they are nice and comfortable
i cant remember what they are called at the moment but il check later and tell ya

I've got a pair of Meindl Eagles and they are teh c0mfy. Expensive though at about €150 but worth it. I got them on account of knowing that I would be attending big-game events (and the amount of foot-abuse that they entail) like Ground-Zero, Berget, and the Town-Assault series of games *, and whatever sick, sick events Stirling Airsoft come up with,

i got magnums and found them great, didnt even have to break them in and were confortable from day one

    Magnum Elites
Their elite series are their best. As stated above by others, they're very comfortable and don't need breaking in. Also waterproof.
However, as also stated above, they don't seem to be made to last. I found mine lasted a year and a half of reasonably heavy use - both airsofting and running about mountains. Then the uppers started to split away from the sole, letting water in. Someone else I know got similar usage out of his before the heels started to come away.
They're also a bastard to clean and wax propery due to all the different little panels and bits stitched together.
Having said that, they've overhauled the design of the elites since I had my pair, so my opinion of these should be taken with a pinch of salt.

    Oakley SI Assault Boot
I got the black 6" version of these. They're light, comfortable and they seem to be well made and hard-wearing ( although, I haven't had them too long yet ).
Only downside to these are the sole / traction. They don't seem to work too well on certain surfaces. Namely hard wet / slick surfaces.
Other than that though, they seem to be very good value considering the price versus the durability and comfort.

    Converse Warrior Desert
I have a pair of these as linked to by -pornstar-. Again, very comfortable. Probably even more so than the Oakleys or Magnums in my opinion.
The side zip for rapid on / off is great. And they look good too.
As also said by -pornstar-, it'd be a mission trying to clean them or keep them clean. I didn't get mine for airsoft.
They seem to be very good value, but I've only had mine about 2 months, so I'll see how hard wearing they are before I make final judgement on them.

    Lowa Mountain Boot GTX
The daddy of boots in my opinion. Comfortable, but not quite as comfortable as the Converse Warriors. Great shock aborption though. Fully waterproof. Very very very hard-wearing. I've given mine some serious use and abuse over the past 2 years. Rarely cleaned or waxed them and they're still going strong. Expect to pay for the privilege though.
Only real downside, and this is really nit-picking, is that they're a solid mountain boot. So they're pretty heavy and not the most breathable, so they can feel pretty warm during the summer.
