Help-Surround Sound Through TV

    Hi all,
    I have a Samsung 5:1 surround sound system connect to my tv (Phillips 32" lcd)
    I have everything operating fine dvd player, music, radio , usb etc, but is it possible for me to watch say Sky Sports through the surround sound system?
    Would anyone or has anyone done this? I dont see anything about it in the manual, thanks!

    what is the model of the samsung home cinema unit.

    it needs to have an audio input to work.

    what decoder do you have? ntl or sky??

    ok, if you have the regular sky box use a phono cable

    or if you have sky+ or sky hd use an optical cable.

    I have a similar system using the Samsung HT THX22 5.1 system.

    I used: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=9662

    to allow connection from the 'audio out' feed from my Sammy 37'' to the surround system. Also connected my HTPC via 3.5mm jack to the 'audio in' on the surround system. Sky+ is connected to the TV via scart.

    Similpy choose AUX on the Surround sound system to watch sky etc. You will not get true 5.1 sound but choose 'Pro Logic' on the surround sound and it does a pretty good job all the same!! Hope that helps a bit!
