    Hi

Can anyone suggest a reliable place to buy a new PC in Ireland ? I am reasonably PC savvy but not when it comes to knowing what else to buy. I do not want a DELL .

    Any advice appreciated

What part of the country are you in?

If you're near the border, you can save some money going up North

If thats not an option, PC World/Currys are pretty good, just as with anywhere know what you're looking for before you go in.

If you've a little time, you should prob hang on till Jan, they might have some deals in the sales. They normally have one or two good deals just for St Stephens day, so watch the papers.

Also: If you've a little time, watch Aldi.ie, or Lidl.ie they sometimes have good offers on computers. Obviously, their customer service isn't huge, but the same criticism can be levelled at PCW/Currys too :p

Whats the PC for? And why not a Dell?

You're not gonna beat Dells XPS One PCs while they have 50% off for that vaule. And they'd do everything, even playing most new games albeit not on high settings,.

Ya I'd say Dell. Why don't you want one specifically?? You don't seem to have any specific requirements so Dell would be your best bet for convenience and value...

    Why not a Dell...?

Because I've had a workstation for this past 6 years and it's been nothing but a nightmare !

The only thing that has more crashes than a Dell is a demolition derby. Try and deal with images and Dell = death to your sanity.
