    Sunday, 14 December 2008

    Recreativo Huelva v Osasuna, 16:00
    Sevilla v Villarreal, 18:00
Valladolid v Deportivo La Coruna, 16:00

Espanyol have just taken the lead against Valencia.
    Valencia 0 - 1 Espanyol (Roman)

Sneijder is doing a late fitness test when Real arrive at the Nou camp in the next few minutes.

The weather here in Spain has not been the best today. It has been pissing it down all day here in Madrid. Barcelona is no different, currently bucketing it down there at the moment so expect alot of slipping and sliding tonight. So much for "The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain".

Real Madrid will play with Casillas, Salgado, Metzelder, Cannavaro, Sergio Ramos, Gago, Guti, Sneijder, Drenthe, Raul and Higuaín.

Metzelder will play in the centre with Cannavaro and Sergio Ramos is at left back to look after Messi seemingly (Goodluck with that !)

Barcelona lineup is Valdes; Alves, Marquez, Puyol, Abidal, Touré, Xavi, Gudjohnsen, Messi, Henry and Etoo

    Goal............

Valencia in front. Vicente with the goal. Only 9 minutes left here.

    Valencia 2 - 1 Espanyol

    Full-time: Valencia 2 - 1 Espanyol

Valencia move up to 2nd after tonights victory.

    Full-time: Barcelona 2 - 0 Real Madrid

    Goals: Eto'o, Messi

Barca stretch their lead at the top to a massive 8 points at least until tomorrow. Real Madrid find themselves 12 points behind and only a fool would say they are not out of the championship hunt.

They (Barcelona) are running away with the league this year - I've never seen anything like it. Their goal difference is +37 and the nearest to that is +11! I watched the game tonight and was disappointed by Madrid's 'kick Messi' tactics. Maybe if they concentrated more on their own skills/game, they would have faired better.

Two crackers tonight in Seville vs Villareal and Pathetico vs Betis!

    Sevilla 1 - 0 Villareal

Renato gives Sevilla the lead in first half stoppage time.

If anyone's watching I am sure that you'se will agree that was a shocking miss from Kanoute 30 seconds into the second half. Should have scored but did not even hit the target.

    Full-time: Sevilla 1 - 0 Villareal

    Goals: Renato

Villareal blow their chance to close the gap with Barca. Sevilla now join Valencia on 30 points.

    Atletico Madrid 2 - 0 Real Betis

Maxi Rodriguez with goal. Keeper should have done better to be honest.

    Kun Aguero with the second.

    Full-time: Atletico Madrid 2 - 0 Real Betis

    Goals: Maxi Rodriguez, Kun Aguero

Atletico's win tonight takes them above city rival's Real and dumps "the establishment" into 6th. It turned out to be a great weekend for Barca which saw them emerge the victor in El Clasico and increase their lead at the top from 6 to 8 points.

    1 Barcelona
    38pts
    2 Valencia
    30pts
    3 Sevilla
    30pts
    4 Villareal
    29pts
    5 Atletico
    27pts
    6 Real Madrid----26pts

^ Always thought he was class, and feel there is alot more to come yet.

Sevilla V Villareal was a decent game. Was expecting a barnstormer, but not every weekends football can be like last weekends :)
