For those who don't have any Viewing card for their Sky digibox:

Cut up e.g. a Xmas card into roughly the shape of a Sky Viewing card... confused.gif
...put this in the correct slot on a Sky digibox... eek.gif
...restart the digibox from standby... rolleyes.gif
...and FTA Channel 4 (and Channel 4 +1) will be added to the EPG! smile.gif

(Encrypted frown.gifFive, Fiver, Five US channels will also be added to the EPG)

    Only works on some boxes.

The (Freesat) FTA version of Five would still need to be added in 'Other channels' using the method I described above, as the version of Five on the Sky EPG is still encrypted (FTV)

This wont work on many sky boxes that have previoudsly had an ROI subscription.

When an upsidedown card "or whatever" is put in, the box will remember the epg that the last subscription had. i.e. RTE 1, RTE 2.... etc. & no ITV's, BBC 3, BBC4 etc.

    As Watty said before:
    Go Sky News.
    Press Interactive (the red button).
    Wait till it loads
Pull out card and DO NOT REINSERT ANYTHING.
    Press backup.
Browse channels. This is what you have for free.

its a shame that ex ROI boxes cant be flashed or something done to allow us to get the UK FTA EPG. most of the boxes i have knocking around are ex ROI and the EPG is dead handy (The only thing i think they have over 3rd party FTA STBS). I have FTA boxes in most of the main rooms in the house, some i have a sky box looped through so i can use the sky epg to see whats on.

Good thing with 3rd party boxes is the epg can be listed with the channels you want in the order you want.

Don't forget the Sky does now have up to 50 favorites and a BlueButton Favorite EPG. May need a card.
