Recycling centers closing?

Wicklow Co Council are proposing to close the Avoca recycling centre.

A local councillor is having a meeting this Thurs 18th in Avoca village to organise a protest against this proposal.

From looking at information on the web it seems the market for recycled material has crashed along with everything else so now Wicklow Co. council getting less green..a bit like Fianna Fail.

This recycle centre is built on top of a landfill (Old Avoca mine pit) that was filled with waste from south county Dublin and north Wicklow and earned a lot of money but sadly was filled up twice as quick as originally planned.

Locals protested originally against this dump which seems to happen everywhere but was before protesters were as organised as they are now.

Now Locals want to protest at the closure of their recycle centre...a centre that is run in the best possible community spirit imaginable.

A centre that raises thousands in euros a year for local charities (people drop donations into local shops and pick up second hand books at the centre for e.g)

Any advice on how to prevent Wicklow County Council from making this proposal a reality?.
