Problems with itunes recognising ipod nano

Hi Hope i'm in the right forum. Connected my ipod neno to itune but it wont appear in itunes. Any suggestions please? Also the screen on the ipod is stuck between the menu and a song i dont know if that makes any differance. Thanks Mics

http://www.apple.com/itunes/ theres a reset button for the Nano, its a combination of holding down one part of the click wheel and the lock button, try the apple website for better info.
