Google Chrome is out of Beta.

Google has taken its web browser out of beta, releasing the first non-beta version of Chrome on Thursday. This latest release will be the 15th update to Chrome since it first hit the market in early September. "In just 100 days, we have reached more than 10 million active users around the world (on all seven continents, no less) and released 14 updates to the product. We're excited to announce that with today's 15th release we are taking off the 'beta' label," said product management vice president Sundar Pichai and engineering director Linus Upson. The updated version of the browser includes faster JavaScript loading speeds and improvements to the bookmarking features.

still isnt as usable as other browsers.

Think ditching the beta was more for oem bundling etc.

The cynic in me think's it's google covering their asses.

People rely on gmail. If Google were to advertise it as a finished product, they could have a class action on their hands if it goes belly up.

Maybe it's something to do with what Calex71 said?
