Things must be pretty bleak across the pond...

    Dear xxx,

    I hope you are well.

You have previously interviewed for me and i wondered if you had managed to find work as of yet?

If not, let me know and if i have any more positions for you i shall get in touch.

If you have got a new role i wanted to ask a favour...

I am currently working with a candidate who has very similar skills to yourself who has recently been made redundant, looking to start work ASAP.

I wondered if you had interviewed anywhere before accepting your new role? ie any places where you declined jobs or were unsuccessful

Or if you have heard of any new roles that have come up?

This would really help me to locate a new role for my candidate before Christmas.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

That is just incredible cheekiness! I would write back and tell him to get f*$£*d and never contact me again.

And then email his boss and complain. This guy is the reason most people think recruitment agents are scum!

Ask for 50% of the commission if that candidate gets a job in a place you recommended

Ask him for the candidates details so you can pass them onto the recruitment company you were successful with, if he is as worried and eager as he is letting on to get his candidate work before xmas that shouldn't be a problem!!

Get him to send on his canditates CV and tell him you'll keep him on file

Or just send the recruiter on some mad made up job specs and see how he likes being given the run around!
