I was watching bits and pieces of Terminator 3 last night and switched over to RTE 1 at some stage to be confronted with the beginning of the end.

I'm sure we're all aware of the potential dangers of nano technology and the likelihood of it bringing on a zombie apocalypse. Rte's documentary was all about how Ireland is leading the field in smart nano technology for medical use. There trying to make organic nanobots that can target different cells or VIRUSES.

There ya go gentlemen Ireland will be ground zero for some sort of judgment day where machines turn humans into zombies and turn us against one another.

    Hmmm,
Don't like the idea of nano technology bringing on the advent of the undead.

Surely the very same technology would help slow the decay of Zombie flesh, and would heal injuries etc (the "nanites" can't differentiate between human flesh and Zombie flesh...).

They would, in essence be Super Zombies.

yea but you could kill em with an EMP, at which point the nanites become more of a hindrance to the zombies than a help.

Personally I'd say an EMP burst may kill the nanites, but not the Z's. The Z's would continue to operate, but without the aid of the nanites (they just become regular old Zombies! :) )
