Straight off the top of my head, using Bus Eireann, maybe the 12 from Nenagh to Limerick, then get the Galway bus from there.

Ireland isn't very good at rural town to city transport like that.

There is normally a Cork-Thurles-Athlone service which connects to Athlone Galway services but this does not run on St. Stephen's Day.

The previous poster has the best option for that day. The full service is not running on those routes either so there are limited options.

    2.25 Nenagh-Limerick connecting with 3.25 Limerick-Galway or 4.25 Nenagh-Limerick for the 5.25 Limerick Galway.
