Claiming up to 3 months after leaving country?

Can someone help me out with this as I am in a situation like this.

I am a recent graduate in Building Surveying this year but always wanted to be a teacher. I went travelling for a few weeks after I finished and was supposed to be starting at my old job but they said things were bad and couldn't take me on so I've been on Jobseekers since. I applied to do my PGCE (teaching qualification in the UK) over in Liverpool and have been accepted after a successful interview. I won't be starting the course until about March but I want to move over in early February to get a place sorted, apply for part time jobs, sort out travel, know my way around but I cannot afford to do this for any length of time as I'd have to pay rent and setting up which will cost me a lot. I heard about claiming for 3 months after you leave the country but cannot be sure. I can prove to my social welfare office my start date etc. no problems but I'd like to know as much before I go in to inquire as most who work there are quite rude.

    Kind Regards,

I know the answer to this one but since I'm Public Service and quite rude I'm not telling you.

In this forum if I abuse the OP and maybe call them a waster, I'd be banned and rightly so. Doesn't realy apply to this thread

But so of many of threads involve giving out about social welfare officers and it's just accepted.
