    But it's not out
I read on the PS website and on IGN that it's released today?
But what's going on? There's no update as promised, and more importantly, no Playstation Home.
Does anybody know any further the myself?

    Thanks.

You're not alone. The store just crashes for me. I suspect they're updating the store to prepare for everyone downloading it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭YungJoshy

    Wooo ...
Just downloaded it there. But having connection problems. I keep getting booted to. The amount of work Sony employees are problem doing at the moment is mind bobbling. Fare duse to them.

    Home is crap.

Unless there's more areas open than the closed beta, I won't bother with it that much

Can you get into the boards club? I think they deleted it. It's not in my club list anymore. They're charging a fiver to create a club now as well, bunch of assholes.

Yup, the club is gone. Just got clarification on the home forums here (http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board.id=b_EN_PS3_Home&thread.id=64500). How cheap are they? We helped them load test the servers and drum up some hype for this thing and they remove some of the free stuff they gave us. Way to go sony.

I think I'm reasonable impartial being a fan of all consoles but sony fanboys seem to really rage at anyone with the slightest word against there japanease overlords.
Anyway dying to get home and have a look at this, stupid work.

There was the theatre, the lobby, the shopping centre and the bowling alley. Is that all there ever was?

The shopping centre is a complete joke, only mugs are going to pay for this stuff. I won a naff t-shirt and hat playing ice breaker and played virtual pool with a friend from real life, I can't complain really since it's free.

Yup, that's all there was. And that hat is cool. :) The paying for stuff is pretty rediculous, I suppose they have to make money somewhere and some people will buy it.

Anyone know what the D/L size is?

I'm not that interesting in Home anyway, no mic so it's slightly pointless.

What a pile of crap i thought it was bad when everything was free but now you have to pay !!! Madness Sony, only idiots will pay a fiver for a club or a euro for a t shirt or what ever.

Doubt it, micro transaction games are becoming more and more popular. The japanese love them, and battlefield heroes will be a free game, with money being made on micro transactions.

Got connected lastnight after a few network errors and whatnot, thought it was actually pretty cool, the main home area is very very nice looking. Played some drafts and watched some movies in the theatre too. Overall I think it has potential and like everyone else is saying, I dont think i'll be paying for any clothes or furnature either, but we'll see what happens in the future...

firmware fully updated. I have a feeling that im not allowed on because I was banned from PSN previously (for like 4 hours!!!)

If you want to buy stuff do you have to use a credit card or can you buy cards like you can on the 360?

I have yet to successfully log into home. Error C-931

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,007 ✭✭✭Gerard_Smith

Finally logged in. Have to say I'm disappointed with normal you avatar has to look. I want to dress like an 18th century duke and live in a castle that moves around by firing mighty chains into the very living earth. Is that really so much to ask?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,401 ✭✭✭shortys94

I keep getting that error C-931.

Saw a guy on another forum that had this problem - it turned out he had downloads running and had to cancel them before Home would appear.

    no downloads running either :(

Anyone else getting connection erros when trying to sign in? Mine initializes fine but once it tries it to sign in I get an error after a second.

I had that a few times during the closed betas. I think it's just to do with server load.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭bugs

Wouldn't waste your time, its completely pointless. Unless of course, you like lining up to play awful arcade games, bad pool, or equally bad bowling.
Todays penny-arcade.com comic describes it perfectly.

I find it OK for a bit of random fun with the bowling, but it's not someting to get excited about. It's just Sony's version of Second Life, another similar idea I never understood.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭johnk123

OK, so i've been playing with it this morning and i have to say i think its actually really cool. I think that the mini games like pool and bowling are pretty fun. One thing that i hate is that things cost real money!!!! No way will i spend any money on home i think. Still though, i think it is where the future is bringing us.

still can't log on to that damned thing - get that c-9 summit error.

Cracking piece of S/W Sony. just awesome.

I thought it was OK, for a random game of pool or bowling.

Haven't bothered much with the cinema place.

Since the beta was opened up though, I've been unable to log in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,035 ✭✭✭nedd

is it just me or do other people not have this? I was down in my parents the weekend and my brother has it. I had to change his NAT type to get onto it but it worked. I came home yesterday and i dont have it on my PS3. I have the latest update and all.

    Any ideas?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,016 ✭✭✭✭vibe666

the home icon appeared at around 9-9:30pm on Thursday night, but i was unable to log in (error C-931 amongst others, same as most people). gave up after a while, same thing on Friday night, kept at it but not luck.

moved my PS3 into the DMZ on my router and after that managed to get in, but now I'm getting erros again so I think it must just have been coincidence (and the fact it was after 1am).

i got in that time long enough to create an avatar ad download the various home spaces, but got kicked when i tried to move from my apartment to one of them and have not been able to get in since.

you'd think that after all the othger online issues people had been having with previous games that sony of all people would be on top of things.

i can appreciate high server loads, but for the game to kick you right out back to the main screen at the slightest network blip is a real pain in the tits. :(

Ive also had loads of problems logging on to home keep getting error C-931 when i finally get on i sometimes get booted out back to the main page. After a look around i got board as there wasn't that much to do. It will be better when there's more updates released for it.

so Home is a pile of Sh1t? IGN and other websites seem to think it is anyway. And going by posts here, most think the same.

not necessarily. it could well be the best thing since sliced ninja's but a lot of people still have no idea as they can't get into it due to sony not anticipating that their wunderkind would be so popular and not allowing enough capacity to manage the user load. :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,400 ✭✭✭Vyse

I really don't know what to make of this. I was on the Beta, set up my avatar and spent about 20 minutes wandering around. I have no inclination to go back as I felt it offered absolutely nothing. This will probably not change unless they release some new earth shattering feature to it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

I agree. It is a waste of time now that they will be charging for pretty much everything. I will probably delete it to get that 3 gigs of space back.

    +1

I couldnt be bothered if I never played it again TBH, I cant see what they can introduce to make it interesting. A whole heap of rubbish mini-games do not add up to one good one

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,493 ✭✭✭eddiehead

If sony wanted to make money from this then they should probably have went down the subscription route, I wouldnt mind that so much, paying for every little thing is a joke. A small one off/annual fee for access to Home would be a much better idea than the current set up, it would filter out a fair amount of gob$hites from the place too.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,407 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Then again would you really be bothered to even try home if you had to pay for it?
