I recently got a new pc, i'm running windows vista (64bit). I also decided to clear my ipod and start it again from scratch.

I hate itunes though (i know i need it to put songs onto my ipod) but is there anyway i can play music from the itunes folder through windows media center? I know they are different files types, so is there any drivers i could download to play the music in the media center?

    Cheers!

You need to install two plugins for windows media player.

I recommend the K-Lite Codec pack.

I just downloaded both those plugins, and it now sees the music and plays it......any other plugins so it will bring up the album art?

Just noticed when i am looking at my list of albums that they arent set up correctly. I cleared my ipod and only have 24 albums in itunes at the moment, but windows media center is saying i have 65  It seems to have split up the albums and the folers dont have the full list of songs in each one

I haven't actually used it with ipod but the application 'Songbird' is meant to support the iPod.

Limited to iPods that act as disk drives though. So not the iPhone & iPod Touch. iTunes only for those. Not sure about the new Nanos.

It can be skinned to look how you want and has loads of addons to get features you want. http://getsongbird.com/
