For mma sparring I'd reccomend fightlords fairtex gloves, I have mma gloves( these ) and mma sparring fairtex gloves from fightlord and would reccomend tem to anybody, they're a great pair of gloves, very comfortable. I fits boxing sparring gloves you're into, elverys do them and they do the job just fine but other options are as per above with everlast etc, lonsdale do good gloves and other equipment but they take ages to send them to you, its almost not worth it by the time they get to you. I ordered hand wraps and some other bits and pieces and it took them over 6 weeks to get to me.

Thanks everyone so far. Darragh, I imagine that the 16oz gloves offer more protection than your MMA gloves. I know that your gloves will allow you to grapple. Is there a disadvantage for striking between those and 16oz gloves?

If its for boxing/kickboxing a pair of Top Ten 14oz are great gloves with good support at wrist

For MMA Sandee or Fairtex are hard to beat

In Muay Thai is there a difference in the type of glove that you would use for sparring and the type for use in a competition?

So is it a case that you use 16oz gloves when sparring to protect your partner whereas this is not so much a consideration in the ring so you use a lower ounce?

Thats right but you can get knocked out with 16oz gloves as well so keep your guard up.
    all the best
