Pretty sure I read on the studentfinance.ie website that low earners can claim back all/some PRSI but I can t seem to find it now.

Anyone know if there is any truth in this, if so what is the form you need ?

Do you mean PAYE? as you would not be paying prsi on a very low income, not sure what it is currently but it was about 340 euro a week.

No I meant PRSI. I work Xmas and summers and earn more than 340 a week so would often get charged for PRSI. Its not much throughout the year but around €150pa. Im sure I read on that website about 6 months ago that it is possible for low earners to claim back PRSI ( and PAYE in some circumstances ) but now I can't seem to find it.( maybe it changed in the budget? ) I had it on my 'to-do' list for when I'm broke, which is now:D

You can do a back claim for this year next year.
Ring the revenue and they will send you your balancing statement for the year and also tell you if you are owed money.

Revenue dont deal with PRSI refunds, only in relation to pension on retirement. If you want to check your tax (PAYE) then contact revenue. Check the Social and Faimily affairs website as it gives you details on how to calculate your PRSI or ring them.
