    Hey there,
Can anyone help me? Every Saturday night I stand outside for a couple of hours, and lately my feet have been freezing, despite wearing 2 pairs of socks.
My question is this: Does anyone know where I might get really warm socks to keep my feet from going numb? Or have any tips to keep my feet warm?
    Thanks

Maybe get some ski socks from the Great Outdoors or something? Ski socks are the best!

Or perhaps get these foot warmer things like the ones here or here. I just googled "foot warmers" and they came up!

Cool, Thanks, I might order them (and the hand warmers as well) and try and get them before the christmas with all the nights to work.

I got 2 pairs of ski socks in Pennys for €3 and theyre not doing too bad a job. Want to get "proper" ones though in an outdoors shop.

I'v loads of pairs of ski socks/hill walking socks..lovely and cosy!

What footwear are you wearing OP? This an also have a bearing on your feet getting cold.

I have circulation problems so my hands and feet are ALWAYS cold. I wear Uggs on my feet and they keep them toasty no matter how cold it is.

1/ Mountaineering socks. They are very expensive though.

2/ Ladies tights. Don't laugh - Friends of mine who worked in construction in
Michigan swear by this. Obviously you wear your regular socks over the tights.

Wool socks are the thing. They really are the best by far.

And wool insoles are fantastic too.

got ski socks in pennys last year when i was going skiing and they were & still are brilliant !

got some this year again though and after putting them in the dryer once they're no longer knee high ! :(

or maybe the ones i got this year were thermal socks not ski socks..

Weird idea that I was convinced would lead to athlete's foot or something, but it didn't.

You put on cotton socks, then put a small plastic bag on each foot (like the ones in supermarkets for vegetables and fruit, or the holy ones for bread), then another pair of thick wooly socks.

I wouldn't wear it all day, but for 5-6 hours it's fine, specially if it's only once a week.

I'd also try to avoid leather soled shoes, as they seem to let the cold through more.

I may be making a giant leap here, but it sounds like you're a bouncer or something standing out side a door? If so, ask the management if you could have a rubber backed mat to stand on as well.

I paid around €30 for my brasher socks and have been sleeping in the sahara and climbing on glaciers in Iceland - well worth the price in all good outdoor shops - maybe invest in a pair of hiking boots too in the January Sales !;)
