Anybody see Panic Room last night?? Jodi Foster is just amazing in everything she does. Although was lured over to RTE after it finished to watch the end of " 2 Weeks Notice" - A little Hugh Grant never hurt anyone! Anybody know of any good movies coming up over the next few xmas weeks??

I personally can't stand that film.

Don't know what it is cause I usually really like FW and have nothing against JF.
Each to their own and all that I suppose.

Arrrgggh.. someone fix that font. Can't bear it on my eyeballs..

Keep an eye here for good movies.

I think Panic Room gets a bad rap.. plenty of people hate it. It's not an amazing film but it's a well shot decent thriller... definitely Fincher's weakest though.

    Yes, both vastly superior films.

Don't know why Alien3 has such a bad reputation.. I didn't think it was bad (though Fincher has more or less disowned it.. he was very unhappy with the production IIRC). Certainly a whole lot better than 'Resurrection'.

If you think Alien 3 was bad, try and find the "Alien 3 that was to be!" set in a monastery with monks. No, i'm not joking!

    Yep, think so.

Read a massive article in Empire last month about it.. was 6 or 8 pages long with pictures, photos, script excerpts, storyboard etc.

    Interesting but sounded horrific!

From the way the article described it, with the wooden planet, I actually thought it would have been better than Alien3.

Alien3 failed because of the overbearing studio influencing the production. Fincher hated the experience, as I did watching it. I think my dislike for it was mainly caused by the sheer brilliance of Aliens.

As for Panic Room, I would sit down to watch that way before Alien3 or The Game.

Is that the William Gibson script ?

The alien quadrilogy boxset has a lot of commentaries and extra features which give some background to Alien 3 production problems (which sounded like a nightmare from hell). I think its an under-rated film also - less so now than when it came out though.
