Looking for a bit of advice on Job Seekers Benefit.
I will be made redundant tomorrow Friday 12th.
I have secured a new job and will start on Jan 5th 2009.
Is it worth my while applying for Job Seekers Benefit for the few weeks I am off and best way of going about it.

    Thanks for any advice.

same thing happened to myself around this time last year. I went down the next day with the relevant docs (i.e redundancy form etc) and signed on. You've been paying your taxes, you're entitled to some support while you wait to start in a new job. Jobseekers benefit covered my bills including shopping while I was looking for a new job and eased the pressure somewhat so yeah it's worth it.

Yeah defo make a claim, you probaly won't get paid before you start your new job.
