Makeup Courses - Recommendations

    Hi

I desperately want to do a makeup artists course. I work in a regular office job and not really looking to leave that yet as it pays the bills, but I have a huge interest in makeup and would love to learn the makeup artistry trade with a view to doing bridal makeup/makeovers etc.

I was looking into part time makeup courses in Portobello School, LA Makeup Academy & The Make up room some have the option of taking an ITEC exam at the end and vary in price. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice, I'd really appreciate if you could share it with me re which one would be better and is ITEC certification needed.

As I said, any advise would be appreciated :)

    Thanks

I did a course in the Make Up Room. It was ok, but not absolutely wonderful. I felt it was too much of a beginner's course and not enough time was spent on actual looks. However, I know the structure is totally changing next year.

The course is definitely structured towards bridal and makeovers, while I was more interested in make up for myself, kinda Mac girl style which I didn't think they covered well.

If you want to know anything specific about this place, just ask, although as I said, I think a lot is changing there come January.

I've heard great things about LA Make-Up and Make-up Forever.

You don't need a qualification (except for working in film/tv maybe). Word of mouth and working hard is best way getting work.
