    Hi Guys,

i want to just make an enquiry on behalf of my brother. He has just been called for aptitude tests for the position of Aircraft Maintenance Tecnician in Shannon Aerospace. Was just wondering does anyone on Boards have any experience of this training programme and if its a good career path with the possibilty of furthering your career?

If anyone can help in anyway with their knowledge then it would be much obliged!

    Cheers

A guy I know did his apprenticeship there. It lasts 2 years 3 months. He had to spend the first 6 months in the classroom learning theory before he was allowed near an airplane but I think it has changed now to 1 or 2 months. The exams are very hard but overall he said he really enjoyed it. Career-wise, after qualification you can do more exams to become an aircraft engineer or you can go contracting in England or Europe earning very big bucks.
