Has anyone used the new paperless caseware,(It's a Mercia product AFAIK), and what do they think about it any recommendations etc.

It has a built in accounts production is this any good

I posted a similar question before and didnt get too much of a response. There's an Irish software company called relate and AFAIK they develop this type of software. Relate used to be the same company that developed apex until it was sold to Sage back in 2000.

Anyway, I personally havent used the particular that you described but the other accountacy related software that they've developed is good and their support guys know what they're talking about. Here's the site.

    http://www.relate-software.com/

As a matter of interest, can you tell me what accounts and tax software you're using in your practice at the moment?

    Hi Boom Boom,

Whilst Drive by relate is a good paperless storage solution, it is not an audit programme. CaseWare sells the Mercia audit solution and an accounts production solution which is used by most of the big guys in the UK. Allthough they are new to the Irish market they have allready signed up a number of big Irish firms.

we use accounts production from sage for accounting - its ok does exactly what it is supposed to, have been using it for years so know how to get around anything i don't like in it.

personal tax - we use personal taxpro. find this really good

corporation tax - we use corporation taxpro equally as good.

both reasonable enough, cost about €650 to buy.
