    Hey,

    First post, so be nice.

So crimbo is coming up, and im a bit stumped for a present for my girlfriend. We've been going out year and a half and ive been pretty good with presents until now and for some reason im running out of ideas.

I was thinking a massage in some spa and a teddy from hamleys. my budget is E100, so is this possible? And is it a good idea?

    Oh yeah we're 19

You don't have to justify yourself on the internet. You could tell people your dream is to be a fairy when you grow up and you'd probably still fit in ok here.

You don't need to get a Hamley's teddy. Get her the softest one you can find! :)

Tbh the spa thing sounds nice but they're so pricey. Alot of the treatments are over priced imo. I'd steer clear unless you were minted.

I'd suggest getting her jewellery if you would feel comfortable with choosing something that personal. Claddagh rings, lockets, charm bracelets and pretty pendant necklaces are winners for a lot of girls as gifts to get from boyfriends.

Consider asking her friends for their opinions. She might be hankering after something really random like a goldfish or maybe there's a band/singer she loves and they're playing in Ireland in the next few months?

buy her a massage voucher, for a spa or something...

and unless she's a really good girlfriend, and will be getting you back with something of a similar value, then dont bother.

I was a 19-year-old girl once . . . and a massage would've been lovely, especially if she doesn't pamper herself or treat herself often.

Actually, a day at the spa would be nice now -- if she doesn't want it, just pm me. ;)

You wont get a day at a spa for 100 euro. you'll get maybe one 1.5 hr treatment.

Are you freakin crazy? 100 euro on some chick you've been dating for a year! I didn't even spend that much on my ex wife. We had a deal that we would only spend $50 AUD or less on each other.

You will soon learn that no matter how much you spend on a girl she wont like you any more. In fact being that she is 19 chances are she probably wont even remember your name come next Christmas.

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but you would be better off spending your money on your mamma instead of blowing it on some chick. Sorry if I sound cynical but this is the kind of mindless consumerism that gives me the sh!ts about Christmas.

Um... If my bf got me that I'd laugh and think it was cute but I'd be waiting to see the real present...

    No "M".

    OP, try here.

I'd move the thread, but the AH crowd got to it and brought their smutty humour to it.

That was an over reaction? Puhleeze ...

Anyway back on track. If I was buying a pressie for my girl I would probably book a night in some swanky guesthouse in the country with all the creature comforts. Sure it would probably cost more than 100 euro but at least I would get the roll on benefits ;)

i don't know what you're thinking of but the poster you quoted obviously meant to buy her a moblie phone running the Symbian operating system :D

Don't get her a message, or a teddy, but something similar in the same product. I substitutes a teddy, it's a rabbit, AND it can message her whenever she wants it, it's a vibrator...

That will keep her satisfied and happy for eternity.

Voucher to go towards her plastic surgery fund, it will not cover 1% of the cost but it is a start.
