Darragh Ó Sé has claimed he hasn’t given much thought to his inter-county future since Kerry’s All-Ireland final defeat to Tyrone.

However, with the start of the new season just a few weeks away, he accepts that he will have to make a decision "sooner rather than later".

Speaking from San Francisco where he scored two goals in the 2007 All-Stars’ 8-13 to 4-10 victory over their 2008 counterparts, the 33-year-old midfielder said: "We’re trying to get our heads around the loss in the All-Ireland. I’ll weigh up where I’m going for the future.

"Kerry are going to be there or thereabouts next year anyway, with or without me. I haven’t decided yet. I’m going to tease it out and see where I am later on in the year. Obviously, I’ll have to make a decision sooner rather than later."

Ó Sé had considered retiring after last year’s All-Ireland final victory over Cork, but insists he has no regrets about his decision to return this year.

"I enjoyed last year, I decided late to go on and I probably didn’t get fit until later on in the year. We had a super time. We had a good run in it and we probably could have gone a bit further (by winning), but that’s the way it goes.

"Tyrone were value for money on the day and they beat us fair and square. We just have to take that and dust ourselves down and come back stronger and better."

that is great news for Kerry. I thought this was cut and dry that he was gone....even pat o shea said after the initial draw with cork that the one good thing that came from that day was the darragh would not miss the final now if we got there as it would have been a shame to end his career on a sending off.

a legend of the game and up there with being one of the top midfielders of the last 20 years. hope he stays anyway.

He'd make a good impact sub, but he's getting on a bit now for a full season at the pace of intercounty level.

Any update on whether he will be playing another year? I think he still would have a big role to play for Kerry as a starter. It isn't easy to replace once in a gerneration midfielders, and I think he has been Kerrys most influential player in the past 6 years.
