I was surprised to see you can buy a brand new Raleigh Burner (as spotted by a fellow boardsie)

These were the coolest bikes when i was a young lad

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Raleigh-Super-...1%7C240%3A1318

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHITE-RALEIGH-...1%7C240%3A1308

Is that bloody cool or what??
I am seriously tempted to buy one...... apart from the fact that
    (a) Im 27
    (b) 6foot2
    (c) Would look like a complete twat...

Would kids now tell you where to go if you bought them one??????
    Or like them??//?

Nice bike. I was a "BMX Bandit" - weren't the 80's great - long before I fell in love with the road bike. I used to drool over the chrome one with the black mags. Anyone have one of those.

and of course all your shoes would be chewed to bits from using them as brakes against the back wheel

As mentioned before I had the Super Tuff. Absolutely loved that bike.

I had a chrome Burner with black mags as my last BMX and had the blue and Yellow mag one before that.
The chrome one was brilliant, i thought it was really light compared to other bikes at the time.

I used to have the gold "super burner",cheaper version of the super tuff it came with standard spoked wheels, but I swapped them out for skyway tuff 2's, was a Xmas pressie when I was about 11/12

I see they have relaunched them, with the mag wheels.http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/Cycle/7/Raleigh_Super_Tuff_Burner/5360039884/ a lot cheaper than the one on ebay, I might add.

D'oh read Aqinas 73's thread thoroughly after posting this

Dude, get one seriously. As I've said in previous threads I'm 31, 6ft, and about 17stone and I ride one of these

I used to ride a burner to work in the city when I was 22. I got looks, but it's just cos I looked so cool. Plus they're more comfortable than what I ride now, better seating position.

If you need convincing check out radbmx.co.uk for plenty of guys older than me still riding old school BMXs

    "BMX Bandits"

Great film, when you're 10! Think it was one of Nicole Kidman's early films too.

    Vektar, as opposed to Vector

My older cousin had one when I was a kid. I thought it was the most amazing machine in the world. Git never let me near it.
