I really hope Jeff becomes WHC champ soon - how many more title matches will he get? Its time he won the big one

Edit: Posts moved from another thread to start this one - orestes

its a bit ridiculous if they let Jeff Hardy have the title now..They will have to wait a few months..How can they keep letting him with all these title shots after losing title matches over and over again

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 15,556 Mod ✭✭✭✭Furious-Red

They should leave it till WM and have Edge vs Hardy for the title

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,478 ✭✭✭Bubs101

He shouldn't get the title at all. Strikes me as a much better chaser and his "extreme" lack of mic skills don't draw me to him at all. His momentum is nowhere near what it was at the beginning of they year and they should focus the push they're given him on smaller guys who can wrestle different styles and can work a mic like Morisson, Punk and the returning Christian

Morrison can work a mic?, news to me, he's always sounded very forced and nervous when I have heard him

I agree, he always comes across as overly goofy and you can never take him seriously.

That's only because the Miz is so awesome on the mic it makes Morisson look bad in comparison. Also, I was comparing him to Jeff for crying out loud. Jeff makes Shelton sound like the Rock

meh jeffs promo with HHH in the ring a few months ago was fantastic, he totally owned HHH on the mic that night after HHH made fun of jeff losing his house/dog etc

Jeffs promos are fine its just his lazy sounding Carolina drawl that effects him

If Hardy ever wins the title it should be at Wrestlemania, I reckon it would make a great Wrestlemania moment or story.

If/when he does get the belt I doubt it'll be for too long. Orton's first title run was cut short, CM Punk has been relegated to the IC title. I'm sure there's more examples of small(er) guys/high flyers not staying at the top too long.

Am I the only one who hates him

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,443 ✭✭✭Red Sleeping Beauty

I'm not a huge fan. He's not much use outside of wrestling matches. I'd be interested to see where this "extreme" (read: craaaaazy) turn is going.

I don't mind Jeff, but I have a hard time seeing him headline Wrestlemania. I think he'd certainly make a good transitional champion.

After last wrestlemania I honestly thought that Matt would be the one closest to holding one of the two top titles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,594 ✭✭✭Fozzy

I'm sure that he'll win it at some stage, but only for a short time, for two reasons. Number one is that if he fails Wellness once more then he's fired. Number two is that I just think that he's better as the underdog chasing the title. Having a heel beat him after a few months as champion would better serve their purpose than keeping Jeff as champ and beating a load of guys. It would make the fans hate the heel even more than when most heels win a title I think

I very much dislike him also. I think he definitely will have a title reign in the next 6 months providing he doesn't fail another wellness test. I could see him winning the rumble if hes in it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,443 ✭✭✭Red Sleeping Beauty

Yeah, the Rumble seems to be the platform or springboard for the underdog. Few guys have come back from injury and won the rumble and then the belt at Mania.

How's this then for a prediction : Hardy gets screwed out of the Triple Thread match somehow, Vicki says he can't get another shot at the title ever again, Triple H and Edge have a Rumble match, Hardy's only chance at a title shot is by winning the rumble, then Hardy faces either Edge or Trips at Mania ?

Probably a long shot , and as rovert said the other week, the WWE guys keep changing their minds so anything could happen come WM. Although maybe they're not changing their minds and are just keeping things fresh ? Although..... all them title changes were hardly fresh, I agree it harms the integrity of the belt. I'd imagine it's on Cena for a good while, unless he'll be dropping it at Mania

Personally thought last year would have been the perfect time for him, he was so over comin up to the rumble and mania during that program with Orton, it would've got a massive reaction for him to win it at Mania. The Undertaker winning (again), did absolutely nothin to impress, all I can remember is his 25 minute entrance and exit! A well written storyline like the one suggested in the earlier post about him getting shafted, winning the rumble and then beating Edge would be huge, but ya just can't see these chump ass writers bein able to put something like that together.
I thought there was a good opportunity to put the strap on Koslov, keep the whole unbeatable machine thing going to Mania, have Jeff win the rumble and win it that way. There's just too much backstage politics and egos in wrestling nowadays, we all know the guilty parties.
And this sh1t on Raw, I'm starting to wonder when David Arquette's gonna get another reign!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,443 ✭✭✭Red Sleeping Beauty

Well they could use Koslov too here I think. If Koslov was to beat Hardy so bad that he injured him and then maybe cost Jeff the title, then Jeff could have a feud with Koslov surely ?

i dunno... i just think jeff is too small or something. I can never take him seriously, he just doesnt have (for me) that x factor or something.

Also theres the obvious issue of the backroom staff barely trusting him with his current role, nevermind if he was elevated to a consistent main event, "flagship" sort of wrestler.

He's bright and colourful and the kids like him. Seems like he'd be a good champ for the kids and the direction the WWE is going at present.

i dunno, i understand where youre coming from, hes obviously very over with younger viewers, but there is still the trust issue. to be honest, if they were going to do it, i think they would have done it by now.

The whole "i hate druggie Jeff" stance is sooooo five years ago, it's time to get over it.
Edge v Jeff for Mania, Matt to turn heel for another uninteresting Jeff v Matt story just like 2001 without having Lita as a guest ref.

Of course, i did predict that Jericho wasn't returning in 2007 too ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,443 ✭✭✭Red Sleeping Beauty

But I'm assuming that they're going somewhere with this though. They're hardly using Hardy to get Triple H over and having Hardy challenge Edge for a PPV and then relegate him back the US title seems a bit pointless. Maybe Hardy and Trips could fued after Armageddon ? Or maybe Trips could win and then Hardy and Edge fued until Rumble or No Way Out ?

I think it's interesting at least, I'm curious to see where they're going with it. Can't say the same for RAW though

I wasnt saying I hated him for the drugs thing! just that maybe that will hold him back as far as getting to a consistent headlining level.
    a bit pointless.

haha that is literally wwes current creative code of conduct.:D

I doubt that at all, he's still managed to do more headling than his "squeaky clean, yet somehow less talented brother, Matt"

Thats cos Matt has the personality of a plank. Haha if he had some personality hed be getting mashed with Jeff. Seriously though I was saying that the other day when Matt was presenting jeff with the slammy, He must be raging.

I still can see Jeff as a proper headliner. I dunno why! Im not disagreeing with you guys or anything, I completely get where yous are coming from, but for some reason..in my head he just does not cut the metaphorical mustard.

Yeah exactly! This is the chance for them to put together a decent program.

what is the story with Christian? If he is coming back to the WWE, I reckon he will be named as the guy to have taken Jeff out and they will fued, while Triple H goes after Edge. If Christian doesn't sign, they can still pick HHH or Edge to have taken out Jeff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,478 ✭✭✭Bubs101

Considering they signed Tomko and Christian didn't appear on TNA again this week it's about 100% guranteed that he's coming back. Say there's an extremely high chance they'll stable up Edge, Christian and Tomko.

On Hardy, if he does wrestle for the belt in Mania it should be against Trips not Edge. A pinfall victory over Edge doesn't count for enough and they've been doing a great slow build with Hunter and Hardy for a while now, since HHH did the brass ring promo

Tomko hasn't been in TNA since September, he is gone I'd say, but Cage is still questionable.

Tomko was brought in to fight Joe two months ago or so so I'd be fairly confident they wanted him back but couldn't get him.

I also think you're being very very optimistic over Christian. His contract is certainly up at this stage and the MEM "buried" him what, 3 or 4 weeks ago? I'd say if he was coming back to TNA he would have ran in on the 4 man to screw AJ out of the title because if they leave it to the next PPV it's too long and he won't be running in on Angle and Jeff and there's no way they're leave an angle like Cage coming back out of the main event. I'd say he's negotiating with the WWE and he'll be in fairly soon. Tomko signing is a massive indicator that Christian is coming back

We have a thread about Christians return folks, use that to discuss it unless it is related to the content of this thread. Cheers.

got this from another forum, don't know if it needs a spoiler tag, could be a load of BS or a mistake of course
41pc sent us word that while he was watching Raw last night a local advertisement came on promoting an upcoming Smackdown house show on January 11 in Springfield, MO where the advertised main event was Jeff Hardy defending the WWE Championship against Edge. We further checked with the reader for confirmation on Hardy being billed as champion and it was indeed advertised that way on TV along with radio ads in the area

Tomko burned his bridges in TNA by leaving for Japan, when he got to Japan he realised his usual promotion was in trouble, he came back to TNA for that one squash, but they went cold on him
