Laptop doesn't like recharging

This has happened a few times. I'll have my laptop plugged in and while using it I'll check the time or something and notice the icon that my laptop is plugged in but not charging. This happened before and I couldn't figure out how to get it to charge but a day or two later it was charging again (it wasn't plugged in for all that time!). Any ideas what the problem could be?

Batteries were recalled for that model I think...

Fill out the form with your battery serial number and bobs your uncle

The batteries were not recalled on the dv6 line, but the line is presently the subject of a pending class action:

If you go to the HP forums, lots of users are complaining about failures in the dv6's, and HP is saying **** all about it. Even our man that posts here who works for HP has been mum about it.

Thanks for the replies so far. The battery started charging again last night while I was typing up some lab reports. It stayed at 0% for hours and then decided it wanted to charge again. Don't understand it at all...

Looks like its your power settings or it could be the battery.

Go to Control panel and then power settings and turn all the settings to never turn off. Then go to the advance tab and change the settings in there to never power down when the lid is closed off.

Then leave the computer powered on without the power cable attached and let the power run out of the laptop. Then try charging the laptop with the charger. If the battery takes the charge theres no a problem with your battery. If it doesn't charger battery issue.

If its does charge adjust the power settings and then your battery/laptop should be fine.
