Broken guitar

Hi there, a friend of mine's dad recently took an acoustic guitar he's had since he was a teenager on a Ryanair flight...and they put a hole in the back of it. He's since bought a new one, but he'd love to get the original repaired. My mate wants to sort it for Christmas if possible...my question is, does anyone know where's best in Dublin for fixing guitars? And what d'you think it would cost? I know it's a bit vague but any suggestions will help. Cheers all. :)

I don't really have an idea of the cost as it would totally depend on the type of wood in the guitar, is it solid or laminated and what kind of wood is used. For the repair, the users on this forum have good things to say about Derrick Nelson:

Guitar Repair in Dublin (Marlay Park)
Danvel Musical Instruments - Derrick Nelson

I seriously doubt you'd have it by Xmas though...the guy does a lot of business AFAIK. In fact, I'd be surprised if anyone would have the guitar repaired by Xmas. Maybe a gift voucher to get it done in January?

Oh, and I presume he's trying to get some compensation from Ryanair....they charge extra to carry an instrument and should take care of it.
