erm what would ya expect? they fail at everything.

    security - fail.
    xbox reliabilty - fail.
advertising - fail (latest ads basically copy apple ads yet their ad was created using macs.)

microsoft are one big huge  tbh

it's a pity the hackers didn't write the html in frontpage, that would have shown MS up big time.

*edit* also what the hell does www.mac.ie got anything to do with this? they are not tied to apple.

So a team of 6 or 7 nerds spend their social time online hacking popular sites and basically just annoying people and some of u find it a good thing:confused: Would you be thanking them if they did it to individuals websites who put in lots of hard work and their life savings into or is it just the big companies its ok to do it to? will they be sitting on their death bed satisfied with the lives they lived, things like this dont matter, they are pointless. itll be back up, its just to prove a point, but whats the point in proving the point? nothing

Lighten up dude, they are highlighting the inept security. Hopefully Microsoft will improve their online security as a result.

It's like if you left ur car door unlocked overnight, and someone got in and left a post-it on your steering wheel "ha-ha I got in". No harm done, and you wont forget to lock the car the next day.

Microsoft.ie is a redirect hosted by Novara (same as Digiweb these days) and that redirect was hacked. The exact same thing could happen to boards.ie who also have their DNS hosted by Digiweb. The DNS entries would redirect users to a system controlled by the attacker, and boards servers would never have been touched.

Leaving aside the as yet unknown nature of the attack, who decided to allow a third party control such a vital aspect of a companies public image?
