Where are symbols in photoshop?

    Hi all,
    Would anyone know where to find symbols e.g. degrees celsius symbol or copyright symbol in photoshop (CS2). I can see a define custom shapes option but I cant click on it. Thanks :)

    ould be wrong but aren't htey in the custom shapes menu? if not do a search you can download free symbol brushes

    Thanks jubi lee, where is this menu?, the only one I can see is the 'define custom shapes' but i cant get into it

    wouldn't your best bet (assuming windows) be to grab the characters from (Start -> Run -> charmap)

    And then just use the characters as normal text ...

    i most prob have them as brushes!

    found this though

    Got to Tools Panel, Select Pen tool, look on top of the options panel or beside the Pen tool box, You will find a star like symbol, Choose it, Create a new layer and draw the desired symbol and select the path, Go to Edit->Fill & stroke, Choose the color & Weight of the line. That’s it

    Or go to your Windows Start Menu -> Run and Type ‘charmap’. A window will open shoing all the characters exist in your system. Copy the desired symbol and paste in Photoshop or any of the Graphic software you want.

    That worked, thanks a lot for the help, wouldnt have had a clue how to do that!:)

    Just remember that only the main font sets will normally have a full character set.

    So if you're not finding the symbol .. trying using Arial as your font or times ...
