    Hi,

Well there is this girl in a business supplies store I go to. I think she is the business. Shes nice and really chatty. Would love to ask her out but Im the shy type. What should I do.
I noticed her looking at me a couple of times and she also remembered my name after being in there only twice. Any ideas of what the best way forward would be bearing in mind I will need to use the store in future so dont want to make a tool of myself.

Ask her the very next time you see her. The longer you leave it the more nerves will build up.

Also, try not to let yourself dwell on what you'll say to her. Trust yourself to get it right on the night.

Even if it she says no, chances are delighted with the compliment of being asked out :)

Yes, I have on occasion been hit on by women who I wouldnt be interested in at all but its always a compliment so you are right. Very hard for me to ask someone like that though, very quiet type.
I shall have to think of a cunning plan.

Or you could just ask her out.

I asked a girl at her workplace a few months ago and she said yes. She worked in a shop and it wouldn't be one I'd frequent often or ever but I had been lucky at the time to be getting signals from her outside of her work, smiles, lots of eye contact.
I went on my lunch break down to her place and started a chat since it wasn't busy. Since I had chatted to her first that weekend I was able to base the conversation on that brief chat. I gave it a few minutes and said along the lines of "I must head but I was wondering if you'd be interested in going for a drink or something" and she wrote down her number and asked for mine.
Give it a try since you only live once. If she says no then try not to get worked up and worry that you can't go there again. If she did say no she may change her tune over time (if she has a bf and becomes single in the meantime etc then she knows you were interested).

Whatever you do try not to force it, be natural and if it's too difficult a situation then leave it for another time when it might happen easier.
Good luck and let us know what you do.

PS. Turned out that chick I asked out was a bit of a weirdo and it didn't go anywhere so I had dodged a bullet, but it was a good for boosting the confidence in knowing that method could work.

ask her out - but in a off the cuff casual way. that way you save face if it all goes wrong. and look her in the eye when you ask - we like guys who can look us in the eye. it fools us into believing you're trustworthy :P

first off, i doubt you are rich. second of all try to strike up a conversion. she might be crazy or with a weird high pitch voice but i'm tipsy so maybe i'm wrong. try to chat to her before your launch yourself on her. :)

Dont be so sure....I would never come across as being a flash git although
I have a pretty flash new car. Maybe I could dazzle her with that

    Is that really relevant?

OP, just give it a go. I've was chatted up a couple of times when I was working in a shop and it came along something like:

    *general conversation*
    "Are you busy enough here?"
    "Ah yeah"
    "how often do you work"
"I'm free at such and such a time"
    "Sound, let's meet for coffee"

    I was rather impressed:P

Yes, "off the cuff casual way" is exactly what im thinking. Any good ideas or past experience?

Two ways I can think of that have worked previously:

    1. The direct method. Just ask her if she would like to go for a drink on Friday (for instance). I would mention a particular time so that you can nail it down.

    2. The cowards way out. Ask for her phone number and see if you can build up a repartee by text message before you eventually ask her for a drink. Takes less balls, but you will get there eventually.

not exact but in my tipsy mood i felt it needed to be said. it was a strange choice for name given the IP and part of me wondered did that have something to do with the issue at hand.

i'd say go for it. at the very least if shes anyway sound she'll be flattered and be gracious saying no. it takes balls to ask people out.

. it was a strange choice for name given the IP
I dont understand this could you explain?

OP just bite the bullet and ask her out,it'll be grand. All this is just messing. She's only another person and he chances are she'll be delighted to be asked whether or not she's spoken for.
Go for it and best of luck

usually the op's name in ip relates to the ip. couldn't see the connection. unless its a confidence thing but like i've already stated i was tipsy and the mind works differently in that state. but thats off topic anyway.

    just go for it op
