Advice re chipped plaster

Our internal walls (plasterboard mainly) have patches where the plaster has chipped off, either where there is a stud or where a child (of course!) has walloped something off it.

I would like to tidy these up before Xmas - is there an easy way to do this? for example, a plaster that you can paint on....

The walls are all painted white so I'm hoping that if I can 'paint' on some plaster, I can then just touch up the spots with white paint. Fingers crossed!

Most DIY superstores have good filler ranges. Something like polyfilla? Some are readymixed, others need mixing with water before use. Get one of these and a painters knife or filling knife as well as some sandpaper, then a little bit of elbow grease later and you should be away!
