    Hi guys,

Not sure where to ask this question so I decided to open a new thread,

Don’t know if this has happened to anybody else, but my running times are identical/lower than last year, due to work commitments I still use the treadmill and I am running more or less at the same speed with maybe slightly less difficult breathing etc, my road race times the small few I have done have fallen off everything I did in 2005 10miles 13.1 adidas series with very little training.

I do try an increase the gradient and speed of my runs but my legs just won’t/can’t go any faster. E.g. during the summer one evening I used the treadmill after working late 1 hour run at 13km, gradient level 1. Now I can’t do that for 30mins

Don’t think it’s an age issue or maybe it is

    Appreciate any ideas or advice.

    Ouch, that's not much fun.

Have other things changed in your lifestyle - hours sleep, good eating, stress etc.?

I'd say maybe take a break for two weeks. Then start back with shorter runs. Stay off the treadmill until you feel like you're running fast again. Start back with mostly shorter runs like 35/40 minutes for about a month anyway.

    Cfitz,

Thanks for the advice, i haven't done very much running since mid october, so i think i need to increase my distance again, as fro stress who hasn't any - could be the 55-60 hour working week, travel time & a postgrad that i wish i had never started:D
