Resorts in Singapore

    I am travelling to Oz next year and flying BA & quantas so stopping over in singapore, would like to get out of singapore city and spend five days in a resort, have a 18 month old so it will need to be family friendly.

    Australian travel in abbey street who have done our booking have come back with a good rate on the bintan lagoon resort which is in Indonesia supposedly transfer time is about 45 minutes by high speed catarman, I have been on trip advisor and the reviews for this resort are terrible, I know you have to keep an open mind when reading reviews as some people have unrealistic expectations but generally they are bad for this resort.....has anyone on boards stayed there?
    I would appreciate if you would let me know what you thought of the place. Otherwise other recommendations on resorts in that region would be greatly appreciated....they dont have to be on bintan island.

    Check out Santosa Island in Singapore, not sure what the actual resorts are like there, but i went to Santosa island for their beaches and they are lovely. Its very close to main area of Singapore if you wanna go in and shop in the centre

    Could you do some research yourself and find a hotel yourself or does it have to be through the tour operator?

    Have a look at other hotels/resorts on Asiarooms.com and also virtualtourist.com. These are very good websites as they give up-to-date reviews on places.

    Thanks guys for getting back to me, just choose that particular resort as it was a good deal - 446 euro for four nights with brekkie.....anything on sentose island they quoted was abot 2.5 times more....
