I'm very interested in getting a HD projector but I'm a bit concerned about the possibility of having a delay between the audio and video when using HDMI. Has anybody here experienced this problem?

If you're using a PJ then you need a separate sound system (5.1 receiver/amp), and all but the cheapest and nastiest Chinese ones will have the ability to delay sound by a variable amount to match any video delay.

It's Christmas ... treat yourself to a nice Pioneer, Yamaha, Denon etc

Been working with projectors for years and never came across this. Just about all HD Home Theatre Projectors don't have speakers, so audio over HDMI is not an issue.

As pH says your sound is normally run through an Amp or surround sound system which handles the audio from the source E.g. PS3, DVD, Blu-ray etc.

    HTH.
