    hey dudes,
i used to play quite a bit of guitar but not lately,
i have what i consider quite a nice acoustic guitar
its made by simon and patrick, from canada and cost me ca. (€/IR£)? 600
i acutally went into the shop during a sale hopeing to pick up a bargain fro less than 300, the queues for trying various guitars were mad so i began trying any old guitar without even looking at prices just to occupy myself, when i tried the simon and patrick, i had to have it!!

anyhoo i was just thinking about what guitar i'd buy if i had to replace it.
i've had a go on some martins/tanglewood/taylors/etc over the years which would be priced similar and above to my own but never warmed to them.. and was thinking if i was ever to buy a new accoustic guitar, i think i'd activly seek out another s&p.
i've never been brand loyal when it comes to guitars or gear (musical or not) so was just wondering if there are any ACOUSTIC player out there who feels the same about his/her guitar. i.e. "i'm so happy with my ***** that i'd be happy to buy another from the same guys without testing any other makes"

of course it'd be foolish not to try the others! but just curious!

I've 2 S&P's. An SP6 and a Showcase Folk Rosewood. I'll never part with the Folk and I'd buy another tomorrow. I wanted a Lowden for a long time, but when I played the only one in the shop it was a disappointment. That said it was only one. Likewise I've played a few different Taylors and again had mixed feelings.

So like yourself, when it comes to S&P, I can't see how I'd get more bang for the buck.

Hard to find cause they're not made anymore, but if you can get a Westfield SW980, and slap some grover machine heads on there, and you've got one of the nicest acoustics ever made IMO.
All together new that would cost €450 for the guitar, and then it depends on how much you spend on the machine heads.
i have http://www.grotro.com/Mainoriginalrotos.html in gold on mine.
They hold and tune perfectly and look great.

A bit of oil on the neck of the guitar and get it set up right and your flyin.

Worth mentioning, their other gear is very low end, this model was a bit of a pleast shock for me.
