The most interestingly photogenic Irish towns?

I'm now the lucky owner of a D90 and am resisting the urge to go out any buy all sorts of lens and flashes for it until I know the camera proper.

I've been spending a lot of time around the North East lately and to me the towns there to me would seem to be the most interesting and photogenic from a quirky point of view would be Drogheda in particular and also Bettystown and Laytown. Some of the shopfronts look like they've been mothballed since the 50's.

A couple of years ago I spent some time in Kerry with an old SLR, and while the scenery was beautiful from an eyeball point of view, I just really couldn't do anything with it through a lens.

Also due to a recent GPS malfunction I was taken from Craigavon to Newry via some really interesting backroads and townlands and again, including a lot of very old, yet pristinely maintained commercial properties and British Legion clubs that sprang out of nowhere.

Anyone else care to share their favourite places around the country for photography?

Thomastown, Inistige, in fact, that general area of South Kilkenny is full of fantastic spots.

Graiguenamanagh in Kilkenny is hugely photogenic.
Had little cobble streets the last time I passed through.
    Excellent thread btw.

Thats the beauty with Photography, it's what you make of a place. Everywhere, without exception has something.
