AP - Access point, usually your wireless router.

WEP/WPA - type of wireless security employed by your router/modem.

WEP is usually a random string of characters from 0-9 and A-F
WPA is one where you create a password yourself.

DHCP is a method where your wireless router will automatically assign an IP to your DS.

MAC address filtering - every electronic device has a unique MAC address, MAC address filtering is a technique on your wireless router that will deny access to any devices that you haven't specified their MAC addresses.

How's you AP set up, WEP or WPA? Is it set up to do DHCP? Is there any MAC address filtering?

    My AP is WEP.
I did allow the MAC address on the ds to be filtered by the modem but then I could not connec to the net with my laptop so I changed it back.

Really annoying that I can't figure this simple problem out.

Has anyone a complete walkthrough for this problem, as in explaining from start to finish what to do etc?

Basically tell your DS what you tell your laptop. If that doesn't work turn off all security and try and connect to the wireless with you DS if that doesn't work then you're more or less stuffed I think. If that does work turn on each security setting you have one at a time i.e. MAC filtering, hidden SSID, WEP etc... until something breaks.

Is there a DS web browser that will work straight off on a DSTT without expansion pack things?
