Ack!!. That's really gonna piss me off. Well theres the blonde-rosewood strat, the brown-oil-p90-les paul in the first pic. Is the other one the plain-top tobacco les paul in front of the diet coke bottle? :D.

Sorry to jack the thread (just a teeny bit!) but is there *anywhere* in ireland that might have a bacchus les paul for sale?. This craving is starting to get to me .

TBH everything into anything worked for me. Dunno what else to say, really. Nothing sounded only just good, there wasn't a bad tone to be heard.

Loved the 335, that was the revelation for me, haven't really played one before that caught my attention in that way.

Except it looked better on me than on you, of course. :pac:

None there unfortunately, but if it's any consolation I played a bassline on guitar... badly... :o

Some serious kit there, bloody awesome. Those Japanese Les Pauls are something else, although they don't quite sound "right"...;) :pac:

My favourite had to have been the Bacchus Strat, it was pants spoilingly good! :pac:

Indeed, some truly amazing stuff. The pics aren't doing Ste's Bacchus strat any justice at all though, you have to see that thing.

No, seriously, you have to see it. Now.

I dreamt of a 4x10 Fender Bassman last night! :pac:

I also learned the Irish for Bass and that even though we had many Les Pauls, none of them actually sounded like a Les Paul. Dissappointing really. ;)

Finally I got home and setup my little rig again only to find I had left both my power cables behind and every time I look at the G-Major it just looks out of place  Thanks Dord!! :D

Boycey, how do you feel about the Hamer now?

Yeah, It was good to give it a lash at volume yesterday! Im liking it a lot so far, its featherlight and comfy, if I was being picky I'd prefer a slightly wider fingerboard. Loving the p90's on it, almost strattish tones at times but always nice and warm sounding. I think its a keeper!

    BUT!!
Im well chuffed that the Bacchus holds its own in terms of build quality and tone going head to head with a company renowned for quality workmanship and regarded as one of the 'high end' makers out there. I reckon thats two fine-ass guitars I got there now, a Bacchus Strat will someday complete the trinity!

PS how did you rate it- and dont hold back on any criticism!

I liked it a lot, honestly. It feels good and it sounds good too. Maybe a teeny bit bright, you really need to roll off a bit of treble to tame it a smidge, especially on the bridge pickup. I think the pickups are, if not the same, then pretty close to the ones that were in the PRS. I preferred the sound of the ones in the Duke when I had the PRS though, they were lower output and darker sounding than the PRS and that just worked with the bassman, which can be bright in itself. If it were mine I'd probably rewire it with one volume and two tone controls. I've never found much use in a volume for each pickup on a guitar, I'd get more use out of being able to take the harshness out of the bridge pickup while still leaving the spank in the neck pickup, but that's a personal thing and that's why I don't make guitars :P

I'd call it a score, definitely. Naturally, I'm more familiar and biased towards my own but I think you've got a keeper alright. It's sweet.

Though, you need to put man strings on it, not those thin child-gauge yokes :p
