i sometimes buy stuff for my friends from UK or USA using my credit card. I us XE.com to find out the exchange rate. however recently i found out that i didnt take into account the bank rates so i was undercutting myself. How can i find out the xchange rate including the bank charge?

See what you actually get charged on your statement.

Yeah but bit late then as the purchase has been made. Assume the op is looking for somewhere to check rate before purchase in order to decide to make the purchase or not?

This Visa link gives the day's rate on which you can apply the percentage charge.

    http://corporate.visa.com/pd/consumer_services/consumer_ex_rates.jsp

If it's AIB Visa the charge is 2.75% for the "Rest of World" excluding Europe. In non Eurozone Europe, the charge is 1.75%.

Just quote them (your friends) the XE rate + 4% and tell them this is the approx rate. You can sort out the difference later.

    Boo
